It was a pleasure to attend the AfricaGIS2025 Conference in Accra, Ghana, held from 17–21 November 2025. The event brought together government leaders, industry professionals, and researchers from across the African continent to explore the theme “Harnessing Geospatial Intelligence for Africa’s Sustainable and Resilient Future.”

PeaceEye's presentation: Geospatial Intelligence for Conflict Risk Resilience in Africa.

During the conference, PeaceEye FlexCo had the opportunity to present on “Geospatial Intelligence for Conflict Risk Resilience in Africa,” highlighting our commitment to advancing data–driven peacebuilding across the continent.

We shared insights from our preliminary work in South Sudan and Sudan, along with upcoming initiatives in Nigeria on topics such as herder-farmer conflict and election-related risks. These efforts are strengthened by our collaborations with local stakeholders, government agencies, and universities eager to support this mission.

As an impact-driven startup dedicated to improving Africa’s peace index, we recognise the transformative power of combining geospatial intelligence with local participatory approaches and citizen science. This fusion enables the design of more adaptive and resilient solutions for fragile and at-risk communities.

Ultimately, geospatial intelligence shows us not only where risks exist, but also where opportunities for hope and resilience can flourish. Together, we can map a safer, more conflict-resilient future for Africa.
